NFL Week 9 Picks

Week 9 NFL Picks and Packages

The NFL betting season is flying by, and as Week 9 approaches, the heavy hitters are upping the ante in the second half of the regular season. The New York Jets and the NY Giants are two of the hottest teams in the league currently, but there are plenty of other long shots to keep your eyes upon. For the second week in a row, twenty six teams are going to be heading out to the gridiron during this week. Twenty four of the teams will be playing on Sunday, and one of the hottest games going down is the Dallas Cowboys versus the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. The primary six bye teams for the NFL this week are the San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans and the St. Louis Rams. Pay close attention to the games these teams are playing this weekend.

Arizona Cardinals @ Minnesota Vikings (-9)

Sunday, November 7 - 1:00 PM

During Week 8 of the NFL betting season, both the Cardinals and the Vikings lost their games respectively. On Sunday, November 7th, at 1 p.m., both teams will meet head to head at the Metrodome, where the Vikings are hosting the Cardinals. Currently, the Cardinals are holding a rather weak 3-4 record, after their strong showing at the Super Bowl in 2008, to move down one place. They are ranked third in the NFC West, one win behind the first place 4-3 Seahawks. IN the NFC North, the Vikings are stubbornly remaining in third place. Their dismal recording is holding at 2-5, same as the Lions.

In the rankings, the Vikings are listed as the 10 point favorites over the Cardinals, and the game’s total points are currently resting at 41. Each team has lost its last two games consecutively. There are a few trends to take note of before betting on this game.

  • In 5 of the last 6 games, they’ve played, Arizona has gone over the predicted total.
  • In 4 of the last 5 games played against the Vikings on the road, the total’s gone over.
  • In the last 4 of 6 games the Cardinals have played on the road, the total has gone over.
  • Similarly, the total’s gone over in 4 of the Vikings’ last 5 games.
  • Overage of the total also applies to the last 4-5 games where the Vikings have hosted the Cardinals.

Bet Minnesota Vikings --- Point Spread -9 (-110)

Over/Under 41 (-110)

Indianapolis Colts Vs. Philadelphia Eagles (-3)

Sunday, November 7 - 1:00 PM

In Week 8, the Indianapolis Colts showed some style in their bye with a 30-17 win over the Texans, their current conference rival. On November 7th, the Colts will be traveling to Lincoln Financial Field, where they will be hosted by the Philadelphia Eagles. As of the beginning of Week 9, the Colts have climbed two spots, where they are now ranked 1st in the AFC South. Their record is steady at 5-2. The Eagles are entering into this game with an average 4-3 record, which places them one win behind the Giants and with one loss less than the Redskins.

Oddsmakers are currently listing the Eagles as the 1 point favorites against the Colts in this game. The game’s total is currently figured at 46.5. Even though the Colts won in their last game against the Texans, they held the 5.5 spread as the favorites, resulting in favorable wins for under bettors. In their Week 8 game, the Eagles were the 37-19 losers to the Tennessee Titans. They failed in their bid as the 2.5 underdogs. The 56 total combined points moved the game over the numbers for totals bettors.

Bet Indianapolis Colts --- Point Spread +3 (-120)

Bet Philadelphia Eagles --- Point Spread -3 (EVEN)

Over/Under 46 1/2 -110

Dallas Cowboys Vs. Green Bay Packers

Sunday, November 7 - 8:20 PM

In Week 8, the Dallas Cowboys managed to lose an impressive fourth game in a row, leaving their current record at 1-6. They are ranked fourth in the NFC East. On the other hand, the Packers are entering into Week 9 with a 5-3 record that leaves them ranked at 1st place in the NFC North. On November 7th, at 8:20 p.m, the Packers are set to host the Cowboys at Lambeau Field.

In this game, the Packers are currently listed as 9 ½ point favorites over the Cowboys. The game’s total points is estimated to be 45.5. As aforementioned, the Cowboys lost, 35-17, in their Week 8 game against the Jaguars. Furthermore, they failed to make the grade as the 6.5 spread as the favorites. The total score of the game, 52, made the over bettors the winners for that match. In their Week 8 game against the Jets,  the Packers, who were the 9-0 winners, managed to cover the 7 point spread as the underdogs. The payout window was generous to under bettors. Bear in mind that the total has gone over in the last 11 0f 14 games the Cowboys and the Packers have played against one another.

Bet Dallas Cowboys --- Point Spread +8 (-110)

Bet Green Bay Packers --- Point Spread -8 (-110)

Over/Under 44 1/2  -110
